There are also walks around Builth Wells and the hills to the south, with one route on firm surfaces throughout. \nAnother route from Llandrindod Wells leads to Newbridge-on-Wye, around and near which there are a number of circular routes to be explored, including one that makes use of part of the Wye Valley Walk. The village of Llanwrthwl, between Newbridge-on-Wye and Rhayader, provides the starting point for two circular walks, one of which combines the Wye Valley Walk with part of Abergwesyn Common.\nA route leads from the village of Llanyre (across the valley from Llandrindod Wells) to Rhayader with the option of shortening this walk using a bus service about one mile from the course of the walk.\nA network of local buses, plus the scenic Heart of Wales Railway Line, connects Llandrindod Wells to the places mentioned in this guide.
